“Teen Mom 2” star Leah Messer is staying strong for her daughter, Ali, whom she recently found out has a very rare condition.
On Sunday’s extended season 5 finale, Leah and Corey found out their daughter Ali, 4, has a rare form of muscular dystrophy which has not been seen in children Ali’s age before.
“Doctors throughout the world are just starting to learn about this mutation, which can affect the heart and breathing. Throughout the whole world, there are less than twenty cases,” Ali’s doctor revealed in Sunday’s season finale.
However, although Ali is confined to a wheel chair for long outings she is still fighting this rare disorder.
“Ali is running! She’s doing so much better than expected,” the “Teen Mom” recently told Life and Style. “We don’t now what the future holds, but this is proof that we should never give up hope,” Leah Messer added of her daughter’s diagnosis.
