“Teen Mom” Amber Portwood is set to be released from prison early. The former MTV star will be released on Nov. 6, and now her brother, Shawn, is speaking out, Radar Online reports.
“She’s really grown and matured — she completed her drug rehab [in prison], she got her G.E.D., she completed parenting classes and she became the administrator of the CLIFF program, which helps inmates get sober,” Shawn revealed. “She did so well in cleaning herself up, that she spent most of her jail time helping other girls get clean.”
Amber Portwood chose to go to prison after deciding not to complete her court ordered rehab. She was sentenced to five years behind bars, and has only spent one year in the facility. It seems the “Teen Mom” is doing well, and others have taken notice of her progress.
Her early release now means that she’ll be home to spend the holidays with her daughter, Leah.
