The “Teen Mom” stars have heavy hearts this week after learning about the Connecticut school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary that took the lives of 27 people, including 20 small children.

The 20 children killed during the school shooting were between the ages of 6 and 7-years old. Among the adults who died were female teachers, and the school principal.

The “Teen Mom” stars were affected by this terrible tragedy as much as every other parent in the country. Their hearts broke for those parents who lost their children, and others whose family members were taken from them.

“Such a terrible thing. I can’t imagine what they’re going through,” Maci Bookout tweeted after the tragedy. Everyone please send prayers. What happened today is so sad and will never be forgotten,” Catelynn Lowell wrote.

“My heart was wounded today hearing about the elementary school shooting. 18 kids were killed [and] some adults. Parents [you are] in my prayers. This is why I’m scared to put my own daughter in school,” Gary Shirley revealed. “I was shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School this morning in Newtown, Connecticut,” Farrah Abraham tweeted.

The “Teen Mom 2” stars also expressed their sympathy to those involved in the shooting. “I can’t begin to imagine what those parents are going through right now, and the other kids that witnessed it. Prayers up,” Chelsea Houska said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with families,” Leah Messer tweeted, while her co-star Kailyn Lowry wrote, “ My heart goes out to all of those affected by the shooting in Connecticut.”

Please keep praying for all those affected by this terrible tragedy.
